Welcome to our new website!
The Newcastle Playhouse installation is due for load testing and handing over this month. Work continues at Wembley and our inspection & maintenance service is active in a wide variety of venues. Our theatre rigging specialists are as busy as ever. In the West End, Chicago moves from The Adelphi into The Cambridge Theatre. Meanwhile, on tour, My Fair Lady moves into Bradford and then to Sunderland; Miss Saigon moves into Birmingham and then to Aberdeen; Starlight Express into Cardiff and then to Woking and Cats moves to Sheffield. Mamma Mia remains in Edinburgh and Chity Chitty Bang Bang is resident in Manchester until June.
The Bolshoi Ballet arrive in the UK and Unusual play a key role in adapting the venue in Nottingham for their productions. After many months of design, engineering and planning, Unusual once again are in aircraft hanging mode. In Dublin at the National Museum of Ireland, we are suspending a De Havilland Vampire and a Miles Magister. Meanwhile at RAF Cosford, we are starting an a major project with the suspension of a Hawker Hunter, Canadair Sabre 4, Avro Vulcan B2, Gloster Meteor and an English Electric Canberra. At dawn on April 25th, Unusual will once again be providing production services for The ANZAC Day Commemorations.
Life is not only busy at Unusual – it is also exceptionally varied!
