The aircraft installation is now complete in Dublin and work on the new installation of planes at Cosford continues. We are the production company behind the visit of The Sultan and The Elephant in central London. We are still at Wembley working on the PA and May is the time for Unusual to build the infrastructure for Garsington Opera in Oxfordshire. It is also time for the Madrid Motorshow. The theatre side of our business gets even busier – Cats into Leicester and Stoke this month, Mamma Mia loading out of Edinburgh, My Fair Lady into Woking, Miss Saigon into Bristol, Starlight into Norwich and our 1m per second custom built winch in truss continues on the road with Jerry Springer – The Opera. In the West End, we are fitting up both Evita at The Adelphi and Avenue Q at the Albery, whilst it is also time for Moving Out to be doing exactly what it says in its title.
Unusual have now handed over the new flying system to the Newcastle Playhouse. Having stripped out the original 18 sets, we designed, fabricated and installed 31 single counterweight sets and 1 double set. In addition to the backstage work, Unusual widened the four front of house bridges and installed 6 Front of house lighting bars with four 250KG Liftket chain hoists per bar. In the Gulbenkian Studio, we installed eight 4m x 4m truss grids each with four 250KG Liftket chain hoists.
Meanwhile, Unusual have just been awarded the contract to design, fabricate and install a 53 set double purchase counterweight system over the 8 week dark period in July at The Theatre Royal Newcastle.
