Unusual Month June 2006

Having just completed work on The Sultan & the Elephant, the production services team had one weeks notice to pack their bags and get out to Amman, Jordan, where Unusual were engaged to provide the finishing touches for The Jordanian Armed Forces Military Parade, The Anniversary of The Great Arab Revolt and Army Day. Our team included specialists to cover every eventuality concerning sound, video, screens, scenic, rigging and graphic needs. With only two weeks to assess and deliver the job, the team were thrown a variety of challenges and the event passed off in spectacular fashion.

Meanwhile, a bit further south, Unusual were moving Mamma Mia into Cape Town. Other theatre moves in the UK included My Fair Lady into Milton Keynes, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang into Birmingham, Cats into Cardiff and Jerry Springer into Nottingham and Croydon. Garsington Opera was in full swing.

Unusual were proud to be a Gold Sponsor of The Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference 2006, held in London and also exhibited the Liftket range of chain hoists at the ABTT show.

Meanwhile, Unusual provided rigging for The Madrid Motorshow and work continued on the enormous aircraft installation at RAF Cosford.
