In the autumn of 2004, The Empire Theatre was refurbished. Unusual rigging installed a new 58 set flying system and early in December, the theatre reopened with the visit of the touring production of Starlight Express. Tour rigging was also supplied by Unusual Rigging. In December 2005, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang toured into the theatre - rigging also by Unusual.
