Text message arrives from Guinness World Records : 30th Nov 2007. Coca-Cola Blow Up Media Calendar at 54m (177.1ft) long and 17.3m (56.7ft) high. At 934.2 square metres, this was the largest.
December 1st 2007, the first door opens on the new Advent Calendar at St. Pancras International Station in London. Specifically designed to occupy the façade inside the station, the calendar exceeds 1,000 square metres. Following the removal of the substantial rig installed by Unusual Rigging for the grand re-opening of the station in November, our 8 man crews went back into night shift mode to install the calendar on November 15th. Obviously completed on time, Unusual go in every night from November 30th to December 23rd to set up the release mechanism for the reveal that happens at ten o clock the following morning.
Tracking the show moves in December, Starlight Express moves into Oxford for Christmas, Cats goes to Blackpool, Wizard of Oz into Southampton, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang out of Singapore en route to Bradford, Producers out of Cardiff and White Christmas into Cardiff.
A blast of Status Quo in Edinburgh and some installation in Sharjah take us through to Christmas.
