RSVP is a trade show concerned with event and party planning. The Concept Centre at Milbrook were exhibiting with their core suppliers, who make the venue the enormous success that it is. Unusual provide a wide range of rigging solutions for Milbrook and in the case of this show, the requirement was to provide a stage and rig for Bristol based Cirque Bijou, who provided a showcase of a broad range of circus skills.
At midday on Monday, work started on hanging the main 40ft truss for lighting, sound and branding as well as the rig for the performers. 10 electric chain hoists were used and 2 computer controlled winches running at 1m/sec were rigged for the aerial performers.
On Tuesday morning, with a variety of contractors all over the stand, Unusual built the truss base and pillars for the stage, which was a clad 5 metre truss ring. All cabling, distro, control and the winches themselves were concealed in the stand design and during Tuesday afternoon, the necessary adjustments were made, so that the stand fitting contractors could complete all of the cladding.
Rehearsals and control programming took place during Tuesday evening and final rig adjustments followed.
The show opened at 09:30 on Wednesday
