Configured to accommodate conferences from 8 to 8,000 participants in 22 purpose-built meeting rooms, The Convention Centre Dublin comprises a 2,000-seater auditorium, 4,500 sq m of exhibition space and banqueting facilities for up to 3,000 guests and provides some of the most advanced equipment ever seen permanently installed in a convention centre.
Above the modular trappable stage are 54 counterweight flying sets complemented by a load-bearing traveller grid (2.5kN/sq.m.), which spans the entire stage and will take up to 14 motors, hemp lines, etc.
In the auditorium the dual orchestra pit elevator system has a custom designed easy to fit and remove modular orchestra pit rail and FOH loudspeaker hoists, which comprise twin chain hoists, for complete synchronization of two drops, an ideal solution where speaker clusters have to be at exactly the same height.
One and two floors below the theatre are the expo halls, each of which is fitted with a grid of individual square trusses which are controlled from a single point. Evenly covering the ceiling, each truss can be set at any height and any angle desired and each has a central sail that can be used to define the ceiling height or as a bounce and diffuser surface for lighting.
For the Exhibition Halls, Unusual designed, manufactured and installed:
- 132 chain hoists, split 80/52 between the two exhibition halls, supporting 32 truss lighting grids with positional and group control.
- Counterweight flying system comprising 54 sets
- Travelling beam system for chain hoist secondary suspension
- Fire curtain 22m x 11m
- Motorised house curtain
- Proscenium masking
- Dual orchestra pit elevator system
- Modular orchestra pit rail
- Modular trappable stage
- Loudspeaker hoists.
