Refurbishment was carried out at the end of 2010 and included completely new rigging plus 33 double purchase bars and two single purchase bars, one for house tabs, the other for electrics.
The theatre has a busy repertory schedule, giving Unusual Rigging just two weeks to install not just the flying system, but also new cradle runners and hauling ropes, new guards to the base of the system, hoops, gates and trapdoors to cat ladders and new guards for the safety winch curtain.
The refurbishment has upgraded the fly bars, uprating the whole system to 315kg, plus it’s also quieter and easier to operate, thanks to replacement cradle wheels. It’s also safer, with access ladders meeting relevant H&S codes.
