Second only to Glyndebourne on opera goers’ experience and artistic intent, Garsington Opera is set in the beautiful grounds of Wormsley Park Estate in Oxfordshire.

The pavilion building includes a 600 seat auditorium, 20m wide stage, full orchestra pit, tensile fabric roof with rain noise suppression and associated front of house areas.

Unusual provided design and build services as the main contractor working directly to Garsington Opera. This included:

• Project management
• Design and design co-ordination
• Procurement of specialist partners
• Site management and construction
• Obtaining regulatory approvals.

Unusual designed, fabricated and constructed the Garsington Opera pavilion on a green field site to a fast track six month programme working with specialist partners to undertake:

• Ground works and landscaping
• Steel construction
• Timber cladding and fit out
• Electrical services
• Tensile fabrics.
