Senior Project Manager

We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in the management of multiple Capital Projects, ranging from £10K up to and including£10M in value.

The successful candidate would need substantial experience in the entertainment industry with particular reference to theatre and large venues,  with an understanding and ability to combine theatre and the construction industry ethos, whilst honouring both’s unique differences. The capability to engage with all levels of project personnel is crucial, as is the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with experience in project management programming,work scheduling and site management overlay.

Contractual experience (particularly with JCT contracts), tender response and achieving milestones with an emphasis on flexibility whilst adhering to fixed completion dates are also essential.

This is a permanent position based at our headquarters in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, with a requirement to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Mechanical Design Engineer

If you're a talented mechanical design engineer, looking for your next career move, we'd love to hear from you. Our engineering department here at Unusual is a busy one. You'll need to be proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor in order to deliver workable designs to a wide variety of challenging briefs.

The successful candidate will work closely with our clients and our in house team. You'll analyse the client brief, liaise and co-ordinate with clients, suppliers, fabrication and installation teams. You will also produce general arrangement and detailed design drawings, relevant calculations and site surveys.   

If you have knowledge and experience of lifting equipment and installations, that would be advantageous but not essential.

This role is a demanding one, but the opportunity to apply and develop a wide range of technical and personal skills in a professional environment is second to none. 

The position is salaried with a good pension, and whilst office based, some work occurs on site and in the workshop.
