Lizzie Richmond appointed as new operations manager

5th February 2015

Lizzie Richmond has joined the Unusual Rigging team as its new operations manager, bringing with her a wealth of industry experience. Lizzie takes over the role from Denis Bramhall, who becomes the company’s general manager, overseeing Unusual’s expansion with the opening of a new 1200 sq m facility scheduled for early 2015.

Previously operations manager with Cemex Materials UK, Lizzie was responsible for managing the daily operations of up to 17 Readymix plants, contractor engagement and management, planning of plant maintenance, management of independent haulage contractors and quality compliance of the product produced and delivered.

Speaking of her role at Unusual, Lizzie explained: “My background is in theatre, having worked for nearly a decade as a scenic artist both freelance and at the Watford Palace Theatre. The opportunity to re-join an industry that I’m passionate about, while using the management skills I gained at Cemex, was too good to pass up.”

Denis added: “I’m sure Lizzie will step into my shoes with ease. Her enthusiasm for the industry was apparent from the first day we met and, coupled with her impressive CV, I have every confidence she will ensure the smooth running of the business.”

He continued: “2015 promises to be exciting for Unusual as we increase in size, open a new warehouse and get involved with more unique projects. To know that my old role is being carried out with competence by Lizzie means I’ll be able to keep abreast of all these changes and ensure a smooth transition for everyone internally as well as all our customers.”
