Workshop Positions

With lots of projects on the go, we currently have a number of positions in our various workshops based at our Head Office in Bugbrooke.  We also have very specific opportunities in both our Fabrication Workshop and Motorshop.
 
Fabricator – an opening to join a small team carrying out general fabrication and welding work from drawings initiated from our in house design department. Differing levels of ability considered, but a willingness to learn and a key eye for detail essential. 
 
Mechanical Service Engineer – an opening to join an existing team of skilled mechanical service engineers, to maintain, service and inspect a fleet of electrical and mechanical chain hoists. 
 
These are all excellent opportunities for candidates looking to take the first step on their career ladder within the live production industry.  Limited or no experience in this sector will be no barrier but we expect the candidate to be enthusiastic, hands on and eager to learn and develop.

Structural Engineer

If you’ve ever seen a West End theatre show, watched the Olympics or Wimbledon, visited Wembley Stadium or enjoyed a trip to one of London’s many museums, you’ll have seen our work. Based in Bugbrooke, Unusual are suppliers of rigging and technical solutions to the entertainment, exhibition, architectural and event industries.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Structural Engineer to join us.

The successful applicant should have a proven track record in structural designs to the latest codes, good communication and organisational skills with proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.  A practical awareness of fabrication / site constraints, a keen eye for detail and a broad ability to comprehend the wider issues that may influence the work in hand.  Good motivation and the discipline to work unsupervised are key requirements.

This demanding role offers an opportunity to apply and further develop a wide range of technical and personal skills in a diverse and professional environment.  The position is salaried with a good pension.  Whilst office based, some work occurs on site and in the workshop.
